The historic port of Norwood is a storied Lake Michigan gem. Spared of modern progress, the village is quaint and unhurried, comfortable in its idyllic charm of simpler times. The 1885 Village Guest Cottage is equal parts hardworking farmhouse and vintage beach house. It sleeps six with three bedrooms and two baths. Guests come to slow down and unplug. The Guest Cottage is nestled in the historic village between the hilltop vineyard above and the Lake Michigan beach below, a short (vigorous!) walk to each. There is 250 feet of elevation between the beach and the vineyard.
An annex to the Norwood Farm and Vineyard, the Village Guest Cottage has been restored as a cheerful vintage refuge. It is our family cottage, now also well-suited for sabbaticals, vacations, retreats, and the slowing-down pace of soul nourishing renewal.
Steps away, the Lake Michigan beach below is adjacent to the little known southern hikers' trailhead into the fabled Fisherman’s Island State Park, with its pristine beaches and miles of shoreline hiking trails.
Above the village, the Champagne-style farm and vineyard breezily overlooks sweeping views of the Grand Traverse Bay, Leelanau Peninsula, Lake Michigan, and the Beaver Island archipelago. We invite guests to tend vines with us in the slow traditional methods. But the view invariably distracts the work.
