Relax in complete seclusion on a private ranch with premium waterfront. The house is nestled above crystal clear water on 100 acres of the stunning Texas hill country. Breathtaking views, swimming, fishing, hiking and kayaking right from the back porch. The wildlife diversity is incredible with blackbuck antelope, axis deer, whitetail deer, wild turkey and you may even see some ducks on the waterfront. Sit down by the creek and watch the fireflies come out at night. There are many species of birds that visit the feeders (kept full year-round) at Stepladder.

Original 6 Riverfront – Shallow Rocky Bank
Perfect for a laid-back day by the crystal-clear Frio. Set up your chairs under a canopy, play some music, and soak in the peaceful surroundings. This area has a beach-like feel, making it especially great for families with little ones. Water levels range from ankle-deep to knee/thigh-deep in most areas. Located at our Original 6 Cabins property.
Terrace Property – Deep Swimming Hole
Looking for a little more adventure? Head to the deep swimming hole! With water depths ranging from 3 to 12 feet, it’s perfect for tubing, kayaking, or just floating and relaxing in the cool water. Located at our River Terrace Cabins property.
LINENS & TOWELS: This house is nicely outfitted with luxury linens, down pillows and blankets, all bathroom towels and bathmats. We provide some toiletries and hand soap. River towels are also provided for your stay.
Bedroom Layout:
Downstairs: King master with on suite bathroom, 2nd king bedroom, 2 luxury roll out beds (can be used anywhere downstairs), 1 twin daybed in the living room. Full bathroom by the kitchen.
Upstairs: King bedroom, 2 full beds on the landing. Full bathroom.

You must notify us that you will be bringing pets BEFORE your arrival at the property. Dog and crate inspection upon arrival. Pets must be kept in a crate when left indoors unattended and are not allowed on furniture and bedding. Pets must be kept on a leash while outdoors. Owners must pick up animal waste from the grounds. Take along a baggie with you to pick up waste and then dispose of it properly in your outdoor trash can. Dogs cannot be left unattended on a leash outside. If you do not abide by our pet policy you will be asked to leave, and a refund of your rental fee and the pet deposit will not be issued.
Pets are NEVER allowed to chase wildlife.
